Roadworks

Roadworks are continuing along Hardinge Street, Deniliquin, between Ochtertyre St and Harfleur St, as part of the Hardinge Street Road Reconstruction Project.

Dates: February to August 2026

Operating Times: 7am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday

Traffic & Access Impacts:

The road is open with no detours. Access to properties and businesses will be maintained, however some changes are in place:

• A reduced speed limit of 40km per hour is in place.

• The bus stop next to Coles (at the vacant block) has been permanently moved to Wood Street.

• The bus stop opposite Deniliquin Plaza will remain operational but may shift as works progress.

• Entry to Coles and Deniliquin Plaza has changed - vehicles and pedestrians should use the temporary access via Wood Street.

  Please follow signage through the vacant block and take care around construction traffic.

• Harvey Norman and Mitre10 can be accessed from Harfleur Street.

• Temporary traffic controls are in place.

• Please follow all signage and directions from traffic controllers.

• Both directions of traffic will be affected, 500m East & West of Event Entry
• Reduced Speed in place for the safe entry into the Confest Site

Council will soon commence Stage 2 of water main relocation works along Hardinge Street, between Ochtertyre Street and Wood Street, Deniliquin. During the following period a roadworks speed limit of 40km per hour will be in place.

Proposed Start Date: From Monday 16 Feb 2026

Estimated Completion: By Friday 5 June 2026

Operating Times: 7am to 5pm Monday - Saturday

The water main work includes under-boring of the road, new water main pipes installation and restoration of nature strips.

Traffic & Access Impacts:

• Access to properties will be maintained during water main works.
• Footpaths on Rams Oval side will be closed, with detour and signage in place.
• Temporary traffic controls will be in place.
• Please follow signage and directions from traffic controllers.
