Edward River Council wishes to advise of a temporary road and footpath closure in Deniliquin on Saturday, 29 March 2025, to facilitate necessary works.

From 1:00pm to 7:00pm, on Napier Street the westbound lane and footpaths between George Street & Cressy Street will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians. Additionally, a small section of Cressy Street on the corner of Napier & Cressy Street, will also be impacted during this period.

The closure is required due to movement in the asphalt seal on top of the pavement, causing cracking and gaps between the footpath, sections of road, and building entries. There is also movement in concrete infrastructure items, such as drainage pits and road crossings, that require investigation.

Harfleur Street will also be closed on Sunday, 30 March 2025, between Hardinge Street & Macauley Street from 9:00am to 6:00pm for additional investigative works following the recent sinkhole at the Macauley Street & Harfleur Street intersection. Affected residents on Harfleur Street will be provided access to and from their properties within the work zone. Macauley Street residents will not be affected.

Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to plan ahead and follow traffic management measures in place. Signage and detours will be clearly marked.

Edward River Council appreciates the community’s cooperation and patience during this temporary closure. For further information, please contact Customer Service on 03 5898 3000.
